Pork Roll
There were plenty of little banh mi stalls and stands along the length of Marrickville Road (we stayed at Em's place nearby) and so we ate a lot of these while in Sydney. Preserved pork products and crunchy veggies served in a crusty baguette - you can't really go wrong, can you? The best ones came from a little hole-in-the-wall on the corner of Marrickville and Illawara Roads, and had juicy, giant meatballs in them. Why aren't there more banh mi places in London, dammit?

The Birdman of Circular Quay
Manbacon and I spent the first two weeks of February in Australia, catching up with family and friends and generally behaving rather badly. More photos and words will follow shortly, but first, I want to show you all one of the best things I saw in Sydney - The Birdman of Circular Quay!

Royal York Hotel
Some pictures of The Royal York, a funny, slightly grandiose, almost falling apart kind of hotel that we stayed in during our weekend in Brighton last month. My favourite bit was the scaffolding propping up the main staircase.

Brighton (Part 2)
If you're reading this, then we've all survived the so-called 'Mayan apocalypse' and Nibiru hasn't yet crashed into our planet (although if you've just been in my local Sainsburys you might think it has and the zombies are on their way). So why not waste some precious pre-Christmas time by looking at some of my photos from Brighton!
Freshly deepfried doughnuts on the pier are perfect when it's windy, cold and still two more hours to your dinner reservation. Who know four doughy little rings coated in sugar could be so delicious?
