Yellow

A sample of sunshine last week - solar dyeing with flowers, and a delicious pastry.

Forsythia flowers and leaves.

Dandelions, about to be plunged into boiling water (top), and 'cooking' (below). The jar on the left contains the forsythia brew.

Pastel de nata for breakfast.

  1. Oooh - I've never heard of solar dying before. Those pastries, on the other hand, are something I am very well acquainted with!

Look forward to seeing what you dye with your brew.

  3. Liesl: Solar dyeing easy - just put some dyestuff (flowers, leaves etc) into a jar, add your fabric or yarn, then pour boiling water in and leave it in a sunny place for a few days. You're using the sun's heat to warm things up, so it's much more energy efficient than dyeing something on a stove or in a machine :)

Sunny: I'll put you in a jar in a minute!
